A co-worker is getting ready to leave in a few days and will be just herself and boyfriend going and would love to have photos of the two of them together, and sounds like this could be a fun way to get some good shots for them.
Do the photographers just walk up to people and ask if they can take their photos or do you need to go looking for them?
As always, thanks for your help!

They may approach you when you pass by. Most often you just walk up to them.

There is no charge to obtain a PhotoPass card, or for any of the photography. A single card can hold all your trip photos, or you can obtain multiple cards.

Go into any of the photo centers with your card(s) to see your photos. Prints are available on the spot. A CD can be made of ALL your trip photos for one flat price.

In addition, all your photos can be viewed on the PhotoPass website through any browser from anywhere in the world.

It is quite a deal. And the photography is very good. Many people have told me they "didn't need to bring their own camera."

    Have fun!

Go to Epcot to see ALL of your photos. (No restrictions)

And the CD's themselves are currently only made in MK Toontown, Epcot, and at the Grand Floridian.

    For the most part, yes.

But here's the deal. PhotoPass is presented to guests as a single entity. But there are really two organizations behind it in the parks. One is Disney, the other is not. And both of those organizations have their own set of base photographer equipment and digital servers.

At a higher level, the two server farms combine their photo sets into the one master set that you see on the web.

At the photographer level some of the uploads are not as reliable as they'd like. I will tell you that the Disney side is very nearly 100%.

The problem is not so much character photo vs. non-character. It's more who took the original photo.

They're working to make the whole thing 100%.

Photos at Toontown for instance try to be available within MINUTES of the original photo shot.

Most other locations will have photos available for view within 90 minutes, but sometimes it's a bit longer.

The problem we sometimes have is when a guest first goes to Toontown and sees their pictures in 2 minutes. Then they think the whole system works that way and "Why aren't my SSE photos ready now?"

90 minutes is the rule. Toontown (and Epcot's Character Connection) are the exception.

(Maybe someday everywhere will be minutes)
