From what I have been hearing, the changes between this group of dates and the 2007 dates are better. I can't wait to go next week, I'll be back with a review. I just hope they are giving out the chocolate coins. I heard that they weren't giving them out the first night.

Heck if I was in charge of Disney I'd charge people to get to stay overnight and watch the cleaning crews at work, I am sure there are some who would pay too...

Sadly, it does not seem to anymore.

It is at the point now where California is Disney's last chance. If I find they same dumbing down there as at WDW and DLP, I shall stop going all together unless the kids really beg me.

It is so depressing. Disney used to be beyond this. They used to drive their business on quality. But the toys are sub par. The animated features are almost dead. The resorts are losing their souls. It is proof that PLCs are evil. I am so glad I left the corporate world last year.

Or I wonder if we could ever organise a Disney Fan protest march!!!!

I still really do love the Disney of yore, and occassionally they do something that is exciting. I am drawn to Disney websites almost daily in the hopes of seeing it get better (like DL did for the 50th, or like DLP seemed to for the 15th - though pictures of the DLP Alice's Curious Labrynth on a French site has really ticked me off showing it was a one time thing at DLP).

I find that sadly I am ranting more and more almost daily. And I come onto LP because I really do adore the people. But if I get too sour, then I will probably alienate those I do really like.

Maybe after our trip to DL, if my faith is not restored, like Spirit and TDLFAN, I may take a sabbatical from Disney websites.

No, if you do not have a wristband you are not allowed to stay . They check for wristbands and wont even allow anyone in the shops, food places and even the restrooms without one.

They check for wristbands at areas throughout the park (generally leading into the 5 lands). That happens as the party is getting started. They will have an announcement saying that you have to leave if you don't have a ticket.

I did go last year to the P/P party, and it was fun. And I actually don't have a problem with it on weekdays, when the park would close earlier anyway. But I would have an issue with it on a Saturday night, when the MK normally would be open later.

I preferred the early show of the Luau when it was Mickey and friends, but all the new characters in everything is too much for me. I put it down to my age. I don't notice the parks being dirty, but maybe I'm just having too much fun. I miss the kid's luau, but I'm sorry the Crystal Palace added characters. New is good (like a new park or ride), but I don't like most changes (Motion & Horizons giving over to Test Track & Space). I enjoyed Kitchen Kabaret, but Soarin' is great, so I'm mixed on that one. I wish the Poly was still $60 a night, like it was in '81, I wish the Castle still had pewter dishes and cups, but that won't stop me from going and enjoying my meals there.
I'm sorry I forget who it was here who said Walt probably would have changed with the times and things would still be as they are now, I hope that wouldn't be true, but it could be, Walt was no fool. Times change, we change. Are your friends as good at parenting as your parents' friends were?

If someone tried to stop me from going into a restroom when I or my kid needed one, there would be a very large problem, and a CM pushed aside rather swiftly. A lawsuit might soon follow if they tried any other shenanigans.

That being said, I don't quite understand why anyone would purchase a ticket for this event. There just doesn't seem to be enough there to justify it.

We did use the extra magical hours thing when we were there recently. It was free, it was part of our stay. But I'd certainly would not pay extra just to stay a couple hours longer for it.

I don't understand why people just cough up money for absolutely anything disney wants to sell them. It's little wonder that things are going as they are in so many ways. Disney has no reason to do things any differently.

I was in the same boat a few years ago, and that's what I did. Go less often, stop caring so much, and you'll enjoy it a lot more.

Don't get upset aobut things you can't change. It just shortens your life.

IMHO, the Halloween Party is the best of the 3. Pirates and Princess WAS fun, though it depends on how crowded it is too. Everything was a walk-on when we went, but I've heard that other dates were more crowded.

I bet that is why they are rehabbing the old abc and the old hunchback theaters.
