Even if its not based off of Pirates of the Caribbean, I still think it would be pointless. What do you guys think about a pirate ride in California Adventure?

I'm all for another elaborate dark ride that relies more on story and sets than thrills to entertain. Of course it remains to be seen what will come to DCA in the coming years.

It would fit a Gold Rush theme.

I would also be interested Epcot's Gran Fiesta Tour ride located in a new Baja California themed area (with other Mexican themed features including pyramids, lush tropical and desert vegetation, rock formations, waterfalls, a relocated Mission Tortilla Factory Tour, authentic taco stand, Corona Beer Bar and a festive Plaza del Amigos shopping area, and roaming mariachi band). Stealing somewhat from Hong Kong Disney's Pirate Mountain design, the Gran Fiesta boat ride could start outside in a small lagoon area then enter some rocky caverns leading you into the show building. A Splashdown drop could occur as you watch screen projections of cliff divers plunging into natural pools down below. A second drop would occur in synch with some zany antics by the Three Caballeros. To complete the themed land, the "Cars" ride could start in the Baja Calif desert, racing to Radiator Springs then back to Baja Calif. Tijuana Taxi Bumper Cars could also be added to finish off the theme.

Whether it's Western River Expedition, Gran Fiesta or some other boat ride...I'm easily amused and will be satisfied either way.
