We started talking about how many people each boat holds and how many boats can be run through on an hourly basis. Anybody know? I'm thinking each boat holds about 20 people which would be 100 people for every 5 boats. Sound about right? But I don't know how quickly the load and unload. I know the line seems to be constantly moving, so I am thinking the wait won't be as bad as the line may look. Just trying to be positive here, some of you may be sitting at home laughing at me right now LOL.

The hourly capacity of POTC is over 2,500

When the time comes they will be as well prepared as possible, but you should still plan on a wait. Any wait will be worth it.

My wait started the night they closed it, I would stand in line all day if I had to.

When I once helped with an evacuation, I thought I remembered talk of about 2800 or 3000 per hour being a good, productive flow. Pirates, like almost all lines in the park pre FP, generally always keeps moving at a good clip. And, IMHO, people don't mind waiting in line nearly as much as they mind being STOPPED while waiting in line (a la standby lines). A moving line is no burden at all. :)

Less than 2500 an hour with a line that at least reaches the french doors, then something is wrong; either we don't have all the boats from Facilities, multiple flume pumps are inoperative, or our wheelchair line goes out the door and we've got a Lead or a Manager over there dealing with the wheelchair folks who are mad they have to wait so long.

2700 an hour means things are running smoothly and normally with a manageable wheelchair line.

2900-3000 an hour means we have an awesome crew, minimal wheelchairs coming in the exit, and very cooperative guests who go to the rows we assign them to.

Pirates is an incredible people-eating attraction when we allow it to be!

I'm betting on 2,500 an hour.

I think the original post just asked for an approximate number because they really had no idea.

Hourly ride capacity is very dependent upon the quality of the crew. A good crew can average 2900 per hour. The most I've seen is 3095.

They probably have about the same number of rows, but usually only have 2-3 people per row, instead of POTC's 3-4 average. There may be some difference in load time that could make up the difference, but I believe that it is still over 2,000 people per hour. Compare that with Dumbo's amazing 560 people per hour...

I would guess that the number of guests wanting to ride IASW would be less than 'pirates'. On a reasonably quiet day where wait time isn't an issue for either attraction, I would expect pirates to post higher daily attendance numbers than IASW, just based on the guest's interest in the attractions.

Not even in the ballpark. Pirates is far and away the highest capacity ride in the park.

I doubt that very much. With the advent of FastPass, people just aren't willing to wait three hours for anything anymore.

I'm just glad I don't work there anymore and won't have to hear "how come you guys don't have FastPass" a hundred times a day.
