Given how JIYI and Stitch's Great Escape turned out, you have every right to be cautious in your optimism. Not every makeover WDI has done in recent years has been a homerun.

After reading the description of the updates, however, I am excited that they aren't overdoing it; just adding some elements of the fantastic movie while retaining the classic ride in the process. The WDW version badly needs that improved sound system and fog effects, this will make the aging ride look like new again; and I can put up with a few changes for that. What I'd really love, however, would be the inclusion of some extra scenes, like maybe the great "Armory" scene in the DL version, or the swordplay action in the DL Paris version, which I never had the chance to see, but here is fantastic.

Also, in the last podcast they had a very insightful interview with Jason Spurrel, the guy who wrote the "POTC: from the Magic Kingdom to the Movie" book. He had a lot of very interesting stuff to say, and also some tidbits about the makeover.

IMHO, that's too bad because it ruins what would otherwise be a great family attraction.
