I just hope that whatever they do to Pirates can be reversed if it proves unsuccessful. At least, thank goodness, Blue Bayou will remain. They aren't going to mess with that too are they?

If the changes proved to be unsuccessful, I can't ever imagine them returning it to the way it was. Besides, how could it fail? Most of the attraction will remain, so ridership won't likely drop.

Anyway, I just don't see the changes/enhancements/refurb, whatever you want to call it... failing. It won't be like Pooh, where they took out a what in some people's minds was a great show, and replaced it with a simple dark ride. The PoTC will be about leaving the best of the attraction, and adding another element to it. Those who loved the classic will still have their show, but those who have walked away expecting the movie will also get what they want. At least this is what I imagine... since no one knows what's truly in store and we only have an internet rumor at this point.

My point is (if there is one :p), is that I look forward to a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow, as opposed to thinking it could turn out to be apocolyptic like others here seem to suggest.

You konw there is something to be said for leaving a ride/attraction alone but I guess I am less averse to change than most "old schoolers". Horizons cured me of that. I only cried for a year or two until I rode Mission Space, and well that did it for me. Out with the old and in with the new I say. Ofcourse I am missing your whole point about POtC will mostlikely be added onto, not totally revamped. At what point did I begin to babble?

It could definitely be improved, though, by personal tours led by Johnny Depp ... ;)

I sure hope they don't mess with the pickin' music in that area, although it IS better with the old man in his rocking chair to make sense of it. Does anyone know when he disappeared? (And why?) As for the movie, I did see a preview for the second installment on line. We enjoyed the first movie so I hope the second one is as good - Johnny Depp was such a hoot. I hope he can pull it off again.
Liberty Belle - I'm with you, I think a personal tour from Johnny Depp might help me stomach these changes a little bit better too. (o:

I like the idea of the fireflies in a jar. What a great centerpiece that would be!
