I know that the MK stays alive with these sorts of things now adays, but I just don't understand why this one even exists. (But then again, I don't have any kids, so there is nobody who is dieing to see a pirate or a princess making me go) On top of all of that, the whole theme seems like it will create a very bi-polar experince, reinforcing gender stereotypes. But as long as I'm not going, I really don't think it will bother me too much. I hope the people who do go have a great time and prove me wrong.

Where did you get this? Why do people repeat things they don't have good information on?

Differences between men and women do actually exist. It's not just a cultural thing. Wishing it were otherwise isn't going to change it for real.

Same canbe argued for the Halloween and Xmas parties, and why we get some silly promotional stunt like "Million Dreams" as opposed to a real 35th anniversary celebration where ALL guests could benefit from in enjoyment value.. But as long as people keep buying tickets for these events (which BTW are always free of charge events at TDL mind you..) they will keep justifying these hard ticket efforts.

(well except the rain and the fact that it prob wasnt the best time to train a bunch of new merch CMs at the pin registers at 7:30 with the rush of pin people...)

The fireworks were amazing- MUCH better than anything Ive seen at WDW (Remember still tops my book)

The parade was pretty good with some new floats (but the silver spires castle float was still there (decked in burgandy not blue) but the characters were all decked out for the party. The first parade was delayed about 20 min cause of the rain. Lots of horses and characters made for a good parade

Lots of 'booty' spots with hersheys chocolates and stringed beads with a black 'velvet' bag with the PP icon on it as the 'booty' bag.

The Liberty Belle 'Jolly Roger' was an interesting add.

They had plentiful character greets with the core group in pirate costumes

The stage show was still Dream Along with Mickey but I was okay with that esp with the new char heads (saved me a trip this week to see the show) The 2nd show was cancelled due to weather but the last went on schedule:)

There didnt seem to be many people and the lines for rides seemed either a walk on or 5 min wait (fantasyland)

All in all I had a great time and thought it was well worth the 40 bucks (as I decided about 4:30 to go and didnt get the cast discount ticket)

It's too bad this is a limited time event, as my little grandaughter would LOVE this so much, but we're not coming until October. BTW, we're staying at the Wilderness Lodge..any chance we'll have the pleasure of meeting you?

It looks like they did a pretty good job of blending the two together, so I'm not sure if that was a problem or not.

Certain areas were princess and others pirate Main Street alternated between "pirate" songs and "princess" songs and different icons would show up on the streets and buildings for each theme.

Where the area had been designated "pirate" there were lights on the ground in the different shapes (map, skull, sword) and the same with "princess" with hearts, castles and I think stars...

According to the map there were 3 princess areas, Ariel's Court (Fantasyland), Princess Pavillion (Toontown) and Jasmine's Court (Adventureland- seemed to be front half) and 3 pirate areas, New Tortuga (Adventureland, back half)Solaris' System (Tomorrowland) and Riverboat Riveria (Liberty Square)

I disagree. The Halloween parties and now these new parties may be money-grabs by the Mouse, but they are a total different animal than the Christmas events.

MVMCP's now forces all guests to pay a second daily admission fee if they want any of the Christmas entertainment offerings that were always traditionally offered to all guests beginning Thanksgiving weekend.

I was at WDW until 12/22 and didn't see any MK holiday offerings because the Mouse was extorting an extra $45 for them.

These new parties don't take the place of anything. They are extra entertainment offered in a slow period for an extra fee. I have no problem with them at all.

    I agree 100% with this.
