He passed away about a year ago. In an odd irony, though, his publishing partner was named Jerry Iger and together they ran a publishing company called Eisner & Iger Publishing. -Jeff

I've read some of "Spirit," and it never really appealed to me, though it was probably a decade ago when I read it. Like JeffG says, I woouldn't be surprised either if Warner Bros and Disney/Pixar got into bed for this if Brad Bird really fleshed out a great screenplay. I can't imagine WB EVER seriously planned on doing a film adaptation in our lifetime, but I'm sure if they found the right guy, they'd be willing to make some money. Brad Bird, of anyone in Hollywood right now, would be the right guy.
