I was rather upset by the story, though. Now, granted, this was a Fox News story (listening to a local talk radio show), so I shouldn't expect any better, but I was angered by the fact that they had to mention that this was a female pilot behind the wheel. If it were a man, they would have just said "the pilot." I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the sexism, given the source.

Anyway, all my thoughts and prayers to all the families.

I worked for an airline that had an accident. It was the worst feeling in the world. I'm also sending some good thoughts to the Continental employees.

Still an amazing statistic (in a world that needs to hear stuff like that!).

The airline workers, the pilots, the ground crews, every one of them do their best, and sometimes bad things happen but STILL..they are a great bunch of human beings dedicated to excellence and safety...

So, yes, thoughts, prayers, and all the hope in the world that some comfort can be given to those grieving today, and that somehow the tragic event that occurred might lead to even better knowledge and further safety for all the travelers that take to the skies in the future!

And on the whole "female pilot" thing, bah. Who is that reporter (whoever he/she is) to say?...all the women and all the men piloting all the aircraft amazingly safely through the skies day in and day out are heroes in my book.

I am a full blooded heterosexual American male. Ann Coulter is the furthest thing from hot.

BTW...John Kerry and Ann Coulter walk into a bar, the bar tender says "why the long face."

Actually there was a Continental crash in Denver just the month before. Fortunately there were no fatalities.
