    NEW! Little Ones Magic Hour
    Part of Magical Beginnings

This summer, Disney is offering a new program devoted to families traveling with toddlers or preschoolers, called Magical Beginnings. As part of Magial Beginnings, August 13 to September 30 has been designated "Little Ones Travel Time." During this period, Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom will open an hour early on select days for Disney guests for favorites such as Dumbo the Flying Elephant, it's a small world and Peter Pan's Flight, and a new play area called Pooh's Playful Spot. Plus, youngsters can meet favorite characters during the special edition Extra Magic Hours. Here's how it will work:

ADMISSION: The Little Ones Magic Hour will allow those staying at Walt Disney World owned and operated resorts, as well as the Walt Disney World Swan, Walt Disney World Dolphin, Shades of Green, and The Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort, to enter Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom Park one hour prior to regularly scheduled park opening to enjoy select Fantasyland attractions. Valid theme park ticket and resort ID are required. To enjoy the Little Ones Magic Hour benefit, guests whose tickets do not have the Park Hopper option can only visit the park offering the Little Ones Magic Hour benefit that day.

SCHEDULE: Offered Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings August 13 through September 30, 2006.

    Sundays: 8/13, 8/20, 8/27, 9/3, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24

I was reading my Unofficial Guide last night, and I was really surprised with how critical of WDW they are that they didn't make any comments about Pooh's playground. Very surprised actually.

No. Morning EMH for MK is only available one or two times a week. This Early Beginnings EMH will also, as stated above, be available on "select days".

My educated guess would be that the regular morning EMH and the new beginnings EMH will be on seperate days throughout the week.

They aren't taking away anything. It sounds like they are just providing a special morning just for the very young guests and their families. Nice idea.

I believe that the Unofficial Guide is published in Sept or Oct, menaing that by the time the playground opened last fall, it would have been tough to get it added to the book and changes made to the manuscript so late. Check Sehlinger's site for updates - I bet there's something about the playground there now.

By the way I think this is an excellent idea.

The playground is in the book, but I expected some snide remarks about it. or is that what you mean? That the remarks will be on the website?

-- umm, as it stands now, the Magical Beginnings and the EMH for MK are on the same days of the week ! So unless they expand early opening at MK to 4 days a week- it IS a takeaway....

EXTRA MAGIC HOUR, a program that allows you to visit a particular theme park or water park on a designated day beyond regularly scheduled operating hours, is offered ONLY to guests staying at:

    -- Walt Disney World-owned resorts
-- Walt Disney World Dolphin & Swan Resorts
-- Hilton Resort at Downtown Disney
    -- Shades of Green

Morning Extra Magic Hour occurs one hour prior to regularly scheduled park opening. That means if the park is scheduled to open at 9 a.m. to the general public, the Extra Magic Hour begins at 8 a.m. Transportation for the park offering Morning Extra Magic Hour will begin 30 minutes earlier than the opening time.

NOTE: You MUST present a valid Key to the World Card (Resort ID) at the park's turnstiles.

Evening Extra Magic Hours typically extend three hours beyond a park's scheduled closing time. You'll need to obtain a wristband at the theme park by presenting a valid Key to the World Card at one of several designated locations no sooner than two hours prior to park close.

NOTE: There has been some confusion regarding the new Magic Your Way tickets and Extra Magic Hour. If your Magic Your Way ticket DOES NOT have the Park Hopper option, you will NOT be able to visit more than one park per day. This means that if you want to take advantage of Extra Magic Hour, you must be sure to visit the park offering it that day or evening.

Example: You visit Magic Kingdom in the morning. Epcot is the Evening Extra Magic Hour park of the day. You MAY NOT go to Epcot that evening if your Magic Your Way ticket does not have the Park Hopper option.
