I've been to Disneyland during some cheerleader competitions and it was a nightmare! I don't have anything against cheerleaders ... it's just the MASS numbers of kids with few chaparones. I've traveled with my girls dance group several times but we've always been lucky to have all of the families travel with us to Disneyland on all of the trips.

I don't want to spend thousands on a trip and have my kids first WDW experience a bad one. We really would like to see the parks during the holiday season.

    Thanks everyone!!

I choose to avoid the cheerleading competition time. One of those groups is irritating. Hundreds of them is nauseating.

The second/third weeks in January are usually good. The marathon is one of those weekends but otherwise it isn't a bad time to be there...although you miss the decorations.

While we've never been bothered in the parks by the kids visiting for this event I could see where the Value resorts become pretty crazy assuming that's where many of them end up staying.

Do go for the holidays though! Its by far the best time of year to visit! We've been doing some research about going immediately after Thanksgiving which seems like it could be a great time to visit.

That time period is still very nice to go to WDW, I'd just stay away from the All Stars.

The rest of the resort was ok. However we were at AKL where they tend not to be there. They do stay at the value resorts. Either change dates, or stay at a mod/deluxe.

We had the Dance teams in Feb however they seemed to be better chaperoned.

There is a British show/soap called "Footballers Wives":
