He even thought that her desire for glasses was so strong (her best friend wears them) that she was "causing" the headaches herself, and that they might stop once she was told her eyesight was fine. No such luck. Okay, so it's been in the back of my mind (constantly), but then again, she's an overachiever, a perfectionist, and pretty intense/high strung. I thought maybe she was getting them at school because she was putting pressure on herself. We even talked about that possibility (she & I) but it didn't seem to change anything. Fast forward to this week. Out of the BLUE, she began vomiting New Year's Eve night. She'd had a headache all day, and then out of nowhere, runs for the bathroom that evening and says, "I'm gonna be sick!" Boy was she. It went on all night. Actually more feeling sick than actual vomiting, but it was a long night. On Monday she felt fine except for a headache. On Tuesday she went to school. They called me at noon to say she needed Tylenol for her head. I took it to her. Tonight she came home w/a headache again, and then out of the blue, vomiting all over again. It has stopped, but she LOOKS bad. Dark circles under her eyes and just... not well. She says her stomach is fine, though. Having grown up with a brother with hydrocephalus (water on the brain), and a friend whose little girl was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor after complaining of headaches for a WEEK, I can't help but worry. Please say a prayer for her, will you? I don't mean to sound pathetic, but I have had a lifetime of family tragedy. I can't take one more thing, ESPECIALLY with my children. They are my life. Please let it be nothing. I just can't shake this sick feeling. Thanks for letting me whine.

Maybe she was poisoned somehow.

About a year and a half ago I had to take her up to the emergency room because she woke up crying in her sleep from a migraine. She was throwing up and kept crying. It was so scary. (Dr. said she was fine once her pain stopped.) Last night she had a headache and went to rest. She woke up a few hours later and after a little while, her headache returned in migraine form. She threw up a few times and cried for an hour. I gave her some children's tylenol and thankfully, she must have absorbed some of it and was able to go back to sleep. I kept her home today because I didn't want it to rebound. (The dr. suggested she take a day off to rest the last time.) She's fine today. I suffer from mirgraines. Every once and awhile they are so severe that I am scared to death by them so i know how heartbreaking it is to see your child go through the same thing. Most of the women in my family get migraines and I'm sad that she seems to be following along with us. I think in her case it might be hormonal (she's 8) since she's already started puberty a teeny bit. (Lucky girl. haha) Anyway, sorry to ramble about us...I just really feel for you and for your little girl. Allergies or diet is about the only thing I can think of other than a real medical reason. I hope you can find a solution to this very soon. We're always here for you to rant. In the meantime...hugs and good thoughts headed your way!

No one in my immediate family has them, so I have no first hand knowledge of how they truly affect someone's life.
