HOW and WHEN did Disney get film, and theme park rights to the Power Rangers, and how is it that Bad Dai has exclusive rights to the toys.

Also, do the shows follow the toys or the other way around. Who has creative rights...that is who writes the shows?

Well, Bandai has been affiliated with Power Rangers in the US since Day 1. I believe they also do some, if not all of the Japanese toys, as well.

<<Also, do the shows follow the toys or the other way around.>>

Since the shows are from Japan, Saban basically rehashed it. Took out some footage, added American plotline and created their own version. That's what they've done with all their other shows, such as VR Troopers, Masked Rider and Beetleborgs. So, with the existance of these shows, they give the designs to Bandai and they go from there.

    <<Who has creative rights>>

That was Saban Entertainment. However, since being in the hands of Disney, I'm not sure.

<<That is who writes the shows?>>

Again, There were a few people on the Saban payroll that belted out the scripts. Nowadays, it might be folks from Disney, not sure about that either.
