Originally Posted By Princessjenn5795 Thank you guys so much! He saw the oncologist today. So the oncologist said he has stage 3 fast growing squamus cancer. He has a tumor about the size of a golf ball in his right lung pressing against his esophagus. There is a buildup of fluid under the lung, so the tumor is pressing down and the fluid is pressing up and that is why his lung will not inflate. It is in-operable due to his overall health being so bad, he would not survive the surgery. He is going to have radiation 5 days a week for 6 weeks, and some ‘gentle’ chemotherapy once a week until the oncologist sees how he can tolerate it. The doctor wants to start immediately. My stepmom said that the oncologist is amazing and that she is confident he will be getting the best care possible. We are hopeful. Please keep up the prayers and good thoughts for him. He is the most wonderful grandfather.
