It was a neighbor who came across the wreck, and he didn't hardly recognize my uncle. Gene had been ejected from the car, and it looked like the car had also run him over after he hit the ground. He's in the neural ICU right now. Still waiting on an update, though. I've been tense all day because of this and because of having to watch all the dogs. The two male young ones have been fighting so much lately (from what my mom has told me), and when they first got into the backyard this morning, they started fighting right away. I tried to pull them apart, but one of them bit my arm. It's not a bad bite, really, but it really freaked me out. I've had dogs all my life and none have ever bitten me before. :-\ I'll let you guys know when I get an update. I really appreciate your thoughts and prayers, more than you'll ever know.

They have him in a medically induced coma right now. His foot is broken, as is his leg, his back is broken in two places (I think my mom also said that his neck is broken, but I'm not sure; it was a lot to take in), and he has swelling of the brain. She's planning to stay at the hospital through tonight as it doesn't look good, and I'll be here with the dogs. I'll let you know if I find anything else out. Thank you all again.

They took him off his ventilator for a couple of minutes and he did take a couple of breaths on his own, but they have to leave him on the ventilator. They tried to get him to respond to stimulus, but he didn't respond to any, which isn't a good sign. I'll keep you updated when I talk to my mom today. **hugs**
