BTW if you have the Entertainment card, be sure to get your $10 off per night coupon. I just found out that this existed at biddingfortravel.com.

And, like most big cities, has some dicey sections to avoid.

Looking at Priceline, the regions 3 (Fisherman's Wharf) and then 10 and 11 (near Union Square) would be okay in my opinion.

The Tenderloin butts right up against the touristy Union Square area -- I remember staying at the Holiday Inn on the outskirts of that crappy area, and walking through The Tenderloin to get to the Golden Gate Theater.

Lulu, again, it's just like any other big city.

Those would be my suggestions as it pertains to Priceline.

Every night they have free ice-cream. A cable car stop is right outside the front door of the hotel, and the BART station to the airport was only 4 blocks away. It was very handy, and smack dab in the middle of shopping and eateries. Of course we spent most of our time at the wharf and it's vicinity.

Right there in Union Square -- a Cable Car stop right at the front door. Very nice and recently renovated.

The Lucasfilm folks who work nearby would beg to differ.

SF MUNI's web site has a PD file route map you can download for trip planning.

If you're staying around Union Square, there are two buses (2 Clement and 3 Jackson) on Post and Sutter, which connect with the 43 Masonic bus on Presidio Blvd. The 43 bus has a stop right in front of Lucas. It's a short walk from Lucas to the WDFM.

I've taken the 43 several times to the Presidio. It's an easy transfer and much cheaper than a SF taxi, if there are fewer than four passengers.

BTW, I live 45 min. away and haven't been in years because my husband hates it, even though I went to college there and I love that city.

What!?! LOL! I guess you didn't watch my youtube video I posted here and read the description. We have a Ridgeback dog which is where my name comes from. Maybe I need to pick a more feminine one?
