You take a picture with one & then move on. The show is on a few times a day & so is story time. They also have little crafts for the kids, free & ones you can pay for. Weekdays seem to be ok but weekends are nuts (as is everything at DLR). I do believe it is open most of the day. The show is great too & Mia really enjoyed story time (it was with Sleeping Beauty that day). There are some pics from it in my album.. <a href="http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=kmr80hl.4falf1vx&x=1&y=6m53ra" target="_blank">http://www.kodakgallery.com/I. jsp?c=kmr80hl.4falf1vx&x=1&y=6m53ra</a> Have a great trip! )
Originally Posted By NJ AP Bobiascastle summed it up well. We went the first of the year with our four year old daughter. I miss how the princesses used to roam around the castle. This was way too staged. It is nearly impossible to catch a favorite princess as they keep rotating and do not post their schedules. If you can bear to skip the Parade of Dreams, I would go then -- the line is virtually non-existent. Our lines that week ranged from a low of 20 minutes (actually too short because we caught the same princesses twice in a row) to two hours (much too long, but the park was overcrowded that day). There is no entertainment while you wait, so if the line is long, it feels long. It seemed to move pretty well then crawl to a stop at the front -- it seems one person would stand in line for a family and when they get to the front, the ENTIRE family would join them (it seemed like a dozen people in this particular case). You have a minute or so with each princess before they push you on to the next one. As bobiascastle said, the show goes on several times a day, as do storytimes. No chance for autographs or photos after the show and storytime. We have seen: Snow White's Prince, Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Pocahontas, Princess Minnie, Jasmine, Mulan, and Aurora (I might be missing someone). I have heard that Wendy and Alice are sometimes used as fillers. Your girls will love it. We were just spoiled by how it had been in the past. Great photo ops -- bring your camera or take advantage of the Photo Pass staff (a great deal as you buy the entire CD worth of photos for $100, then take the pictures to Snapfish and print them for pennies each, instead of paying $15 for each 5x7 -- they are throughout both parks).

We have only seen the Christmas parade, but most of the princesses were in that, and would be unavailable for pics. Although I guess there could be more than one of each princess...

The princesses teach the girls how to curtsey, how to waltz, and how to dance the maypole. There is a "coronation" for all the little princesses. (Little boys are also accommodated, as well!) In addition, there is a shop (naturally!) with all the supplies you could want to outfit your princess, a craft area (it's free), and a food outlet with cute castle shaped cupcakes and sugar decorations. There were long lines to see them, of course, but I wouldn't say they were 'mobbed'. Putting them all back where they're less likely to be seen is exactly what they did at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom--where they're confined to the Toon Town Tents--and I hate that, too! (sigh)

It saved having these little girls in line for a very long time, and saved the family a ton of time to do other things. Also, at the end of the show is when the meet and greet line gets very long.
