Definitely the most interesting part to me is that the article quotes Hoover as saying "they are in many cases recognizable and can be associated very closely with the generic species here on earth." Amazing that the universe would have the perfect storm for certain bacteria to exist both on earth and on a meteorite hurtling through space.

It wouldn't be the first time this claim was made and debunked. "Amazing that the universe would have the perfect storm for certain bacteria to exist both on earth and on a meteorite hurtling through space." I too found that to be very suspicious. We'll see. Another thing that crosses my mind is that these meteors are clearly from our own solar system, a solar system where so far not a trace of like has been found outside of earth.

And the probes we have sent out haven't even been properly equipped to find bacteria like this. This search is only just beginning. And with all the data coming in from Kepler, and the hundreds of planets it's finding, it's really only a matter of time before we find another Earth-like planet. The odds really are in Life's favor!

Tardigrades (water bears) can survive on earth and in space, and they evolved here. >a solar system where so far not a trace of like has been found outside of earth< MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS MARS

Of course, the alien life isn't blowing up the White House or making crop circles, so most people won't much care.

As for the new findings, we'll see what they say.
