EDITOR'S NOTE 8/3: Meg Crofton has arrived this week for her first official visit to Anaheim, but she's staying undercover so far. Her visit includes quick walks through both parks, the hotels and Downtown Disney, plus samplings of all the major entertainment. She even spent Tues morning on a chauffeured tour of the various bits of Disney's Anaheim property in a rented executive minibus with blacked-out windows, apparently avoiding any contact outside of the vehicle. The goal is to get the lay of the land, learn a few snippets of Anaheim lingo, and incorporate the SoCal scene into her "talking points." Sheesh Meg, they won't bite. |-Al Lutz Hey Staggs, if you have to protect her THAT much like she's a gov't figure then you got the WRONG person guy!!!

When George K or Tom Staggs swings through the park, it always gets out fast, and most Leads give the other Leads a heads up via park radio on their current location and direction they are heading. But with Meg's visit, the radio has been dead quiet. There is also no knowledge or any sightings of her visit or bus tour yesterday. (The bus tour makes sense though, since there's a lot of stuff around Anaheim that is connected to Disneyland; the Olive Street decorating warehouse, the Travel Company offices downtown, Disneyland International offices by the Stadium, Toy Story and other satellite parking lots, etc. You would want a vehicle to get to all those places on a whirlwind tour.) But if Meg is in Anaheim this week, she is doing a very good job of not introducing herself to Onstage CM's and not being visible. I can ask around from some friends that work back in TDA, but as far as that little theme park off Harbor Blvd. is concerned, she's a no-show thus far.

At some point, I fully expect that she will be out talking to guests and frontline CMs, but I also expect that she needs to know whats going on before that happens. I would rather her take her time to get her bearings than to be thrown into something she has no idea about. And with how long she's been stationed in WDW, shouldn't we expect her to do this type of thing before getting down to the details? It just seems like she's learning about, and interacting with, the resort in a responsible way at this point. Plus, if she's doing such a good job staying hidden that there hasn't been any other word of her, who's to say she's even doing the top-secret tour?

So, it gives me a clue how much or how little the DLR means to her. The less time she gives ... the less she'll give a .............!

I seriously doubt if she really has much time in her busy schedule to devote to DLR other than looking at spreadsheets or presiding over divisional management meetings. Overseeing the intricacies of DLR's operations are George K's responsibilities not Meg's. In my opinion a certain side of Disney Fan Kingdom is unnecessarily worked up over Meg's recent promotion. In fact, I'm beginning to feel that there is a genuine effort here to get folks who normally wouldn't care about this sort of thing all riled up.

I wonder what the hell you're saying here. It's nonsense. People here seriously believe they can make a meaningful assessment of "how much or how little the DLR means to her" by this one little visit. Get a life, folks.
