If they were there from the beginning, that's AMAZING that the imagineeres actually predicted the future!!!

I gotcha now. You're referring to some of the final animatronic scenes in the attraction.

I think hopemax is correct. I think these characters got this redress when all the fiber optic effects were added to SSE in a big way.

There was pretty much a steady stream of "just around the corner" videophone innovations that were always just 2-3 years away from wide adoption from that point pretty much up to now. The public always seemed fascinated by them but in the end, it's use as a general-purpose communication medium outside of corporate teleconferencing never caught on. But it certainly had been invented and demonstrated by the time EPCOT opened.

I stand corrected... BUT... no one remembers him as voice ... Cronkite rules the universe...

I could not disagree more, but then I never heard the Walter C. version.

    "Tomorrow's Child" Lyrics
    Female: Tomorrow's child
    Children: Tomorrow's child
Female: Gathering gifts from our past
    Tomorrow's child
    Children: Tomorrow's child
Female: Shaping a world that will last
    Holding the spark
    As we embark
    On a great journey
    Together we're learning to
    Reach for hope and desire
    Building a world to inspire

    Tomorrow's child
    Tomorrow's child
    Charting a brand new way
    For the Future World is
    All: Born today!
    Children: Born today

    Female: Tomorrow's child
Lighting the path as we're going
    Children: Tomorrow's child
    Female: Tomorrow's child
    Seeing that knowledge keeps growing
    Children: Tomorrow's child
    Female: Searching through time
    Longing to find
    Answers to guide us
    And dreams to unite us
    Reaching for hope and desire
    Building a world to inspire

    Tomorrow's child
    Tomorrow's child
    Charting a brand new way!
    For the Future World is
    All: Born today!
    Children: Born today
    Female: Tomorrow's child
    Children: Tomorrow's child
    Tomorrow's child
Female: Helping us unlock the door
    Tomorrow's child
    Children: Tomorrow's child
    Tomorrow's child
Female: Showing us ways to explore
    Helping convey
    Ideas of today
Children: Where we will find inspiration forever to
All: Reach for hope and desire
    Building a world to inspire
    Female: Tomorrow's child
    Tomorrow's child
    Charting a brand new way!
    For the Future World is
    All: Born today!
    Children: Born today
    Born today
