    But here's my question despite times being tough do you believe that if somebody wants to buy a car, a house, take a vacation, they will still find a way to do it?

    I've got just about the lousiest credit rating on the planet, and I still keep getting pre-approved credit card offers. There are times I'm sorely tempted to take the money now and worry about the consequences later. (I resist that temptation, because that's how I got in trouble in the first place.)

But I think with time people will realize that if they give up "material wants A,B and C" they can afford the house, car, vacation they want. But it's going to be a whiny process :) Like dealing with 3 year olds who want everything.
