Due to the personel cost and the down time. There was some production when it first opened but it deline quickly after the novelty of the studios first open. Some TV movies were produced there and a few game shows.But that was back in the early 90's. As for the backlot they need to turn that into Star Wars land. I can beleive they have not done that yet.
