It didn't make sense that they would shut down the entire park all at once, but stranger things have happened. Can someone give me the lowdown so I can inform my friend of the realities?

The Lagoon is empty while they assemble the new light show that will be in the lagoon. And finally Burger Invasion is closed because McDonalds exited the parks and this will become the beer garden.

As far as you know...is Soarin' and ToT open in CA?

The Floral area at the entrance was also behind walls at DL Monday through Thursay, but has had the walls removed. I noticed that they haven't reduced the rate while everything is blocked off. I know that DL is more of a "locals" park and therefore can be visited anytime but geez, enough is enough. There are a few that spend mega bucks to travel to he Disney Mecca, you'd think they would count for something as well.

They closed all their resaraunts, too. Oh, they also closed all their shops.

I will admit that it would kind of stink to miss out on GRR if you really wanted to do it, but in January, it's usually a little chilly for anyone to want to get that wet (I've done it a couple times that time of year, and it's not pleasant). So, yes, the park has some walls up, but considering the ammount of work that they're doing, pretty much everything is still operational and just as fun as it would be otherwise.

I'm sure they have their reasons for doing it later, but if you think people are complaining about DCA now, just wait til they close off the entrance.
