Originally Posted By gurgitoy2 "I don't believe the railroad tracks have ever been rerouted," I don't think that's true. I do believe that the Disneyland Railroad has had it's tracks pushed out several times over the years. If you look at the park at opening (and for several years after), it's shape is not the same as it is today. I think it's been pushed out on the Frontierland side, as well as the Fantasyland side. I'm sure the DLRR experts will be along shortly to tell us exactly what has happened to the tracks over the years.

Originally Posted By smd4 Sure, the railroad has expanded dramatically over the years. The best way to see this is to look at an early aerial view of the park, and compare it to one from today. Or look at the model in the Opera House. An easy way to grasp the expansion is to look at where Frontierland Station used to be located: In 1955, it was very near the current Blue Bayou entrance!
