I personally prefer using an umbrella, as it's much less sweaty than a poncho if the temps rise (plus it's easier to fold up than the ponchos when you go inside). Just keep a positive mental attitude and go for it - you'll have a blast!

If it is really pouring we go to the attractions that are inside and have queues that are primarily inside; Pirates for instance. If it is raining lightly we just put on a baseball cap to keep the rain out of our face and do our usual thing. We've also found ponchos to be way too hot and umbrellas way too much of a hassle.

If it doesn't rain (most likely it won't) then it will be very pleasant. On the other hand, if one of those nasty north Pacific storms blows in, it will be miserable.

And no fireworks or fantasmic. But we were there this past weekend and on monday there was a light drizzle-and it was nothing! The park was fairly empty at opening and it was great!
