Reading Yahoo News headlines is hazardous

    In the last two weeks I've earned that bacon is good for you, bacon is bad for you. Coffee is great for fighting off cancer yet also can be a contributing cause. Today it's that eating red meat greatly increases the likelihood of death. Tomorrow it'll be that starvation greatly increases the likelihood of death.

    They also like to use the word "slams" in headlines. This politician "slams" a rival politician, when actually they were just disagreeing. A kid "slammed" Michele Obama, when it turned out the kid reporter asked a valid question and she answered the question.

    Every headline is designed to make you worried, fearful, filled with dread, hysterical.

    No wonder Google is slamming Yahoo.

    Thank you for pointing that out!! I thought I was the only one who found their habit of using "slams" over and over so annoying!!

    Sometimes I think Yahoo has a bunch of kids writing their headlines for them.

    I agree. And kids that don't brother to read the articles they're writing headlines for!
