However, some financial strains have put us in the position that we need to cut back costs on this vacation drastically. So I'd like to get opinions about the moderate resorts. Would like convenience for getting around to the parks, nice pool area for the kids (ages 9 and 11), and as many amenities as possible for the price. So I'm putting it out there to you experts.... I've only been there twice so my experience is limited. Thanks so much in advance!

The pool area is fabulous, too.

CBR & CS are both great, big resorts - I just prefer the theming and dining at CS, so that's why I list it first. As for POR, I'll likely never stay there again.

i was totally scared when i stayed here first week of June, all i could think about was Labuda telling us how dirty it was. LOL!!! i had stayed here a few years back without trouble, but have recently switched to AKL for our last few trips. We traveled with friends this time, and they chose POR for the boat to DTD, Thankfully, our room was clean--i mean really clean, which was a pleasent suprise, i was expecting worse. my feet didn't even get dirty :)

Anyway to answer your question POR remains my favorite moderate.

AKL is my favorite deluxe, I mention it because you may be able to get a standard room here for less then the contemporary. Even though they are both considered deluxe.

AKL starts at 215.00 Contemporary starts at 259.00 for value season.

check out the pics at allears.net,

POFQ left me feeling cold when we scoped it out for a couple of hours on one of our visits. We boated over from POR and walked the entire property, went in the lobby, the food area, the bar, the store, checked out the pool. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just seemed like "some hotel in Florida" instead of giving me the feeling I get when walking about the other WDW properties. Food options were limited too.

Can't advise on CBR or CSR until mid-October. We'll be staying at CBR and plan on doing a scouting trip on CSR.

Even checked the drawers where kids always leave trash. The first night I asked for extra towels(since we had 5 in our room) and they put extras everyday without us having to ask. I loved the beautiful grounds and my kids, 15, 13,and 11 loved the pools.
