The bolt has tiny threads and requires very little torque. Using a lot of force on it can damage the threads, making it impossible to tighten. A gentle tightening is all that is necessary.

DD9 likes to keep a pin on her Tinkerbell name tag that she wears every day (thanks Easter Bunny!) But the pins just don't stay on without the lock.
