I guess I can bring just for the purpose of uploading my pictures into iPhoto, but I would love to post them on my website from vacation.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I do know they offer access to Disney.com free of charge at all of the resorts,(as a way to help you plan your trip..) but not all of the site is free of charge.

However, The speeds is 10mb and in the evening not many people are using it...

You can get wireless near the pools and lobby's of the premium resorts such as contemporary. (I had a ground floor room in the garden wing and could pick up the wireless from the pool if I wanted)

I was talking to one of the moms on my son's soccer team (an honest to goodness soccer mom) about WDW resorts. She and her husband are pretty wealthy and have stayed at deluxe WDW resorts before.

In her words she "really hates how Disney nickels and dimes you". She complained about how her room didn't even have a coffee maker (she ran out and bought a cheapo machine at a local big box mart).

We stayed at a Holiday Inn 2 weeks ago in Anaheim. $80 a night, all taxes included. And wireless internet was free. I'm afraid that I have to agree with the soccer mom. Disney does nickle and dime its customers.

But within the walls of WDW, hey, you're there anyway, and you're going to need at least some internet access, and you're probably going to pay for it when you need it. I certainly don't agree with Disney still charging for this service that's free in most other places. But it does amount to a pretty large chunk o' change for that stockholder bottom line.

What I have found is that the nicer hotels charge you, even in the real world. My son's team travelled to a few soccer tournaments this past year, and the team was always able to get rooms at some really nice places for a good rate. Without exception, they all charged for internet access

What Disney could do is charge a $10 resort fee... it would cover the internet and other resort things. Disneyland Resort Hotel does that, or build it into the price, not everyone uses internet anyway so they would make some money rather than just breaking even at some resorts.

That's absolutely true. All of the major hotel chains that I know of (Sheraton, Hilton, Hyatt) and even the high end ones like Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton charge $10-15 a day for in-room Internet access.

The only part of the market that seems to give it away with the room is the lower end, whether they be independent motels or something like a Holiday Inn Express. Part of the reason for this is their accounting systems: many of these types of places operate on a "pay up front" basis where you pay for your room when you check in, and there's no ability to charge anything to your room (so, they also don't have room service, ability to charge telephone calls to your room, or pay per view video). It keeps the front office accounting very simple.

I'm sure there are exceptions in both directions to what I've said above, but I'm fairly confident that what I said is representative of the lodging industry.

I patently refuse to do so unless my employer is paying.

When I'm at WDW, I use dialup ... local calls were 75 cents, but now they're free again (they were until about 1995-96).
