What does the Rocket Rod railing and the former plan to renovate the subs to the "Atlantis" film have to do with each other?! The only thing that was done for the Rocket Rod's railing .. was they painted the section right in front of the Monorail station .. so guests would not see a rusting Rocket Rods infrastructure. The neglect of the tracks was showing ... and it would have been bad show to leave it. So, that's the only area that has shown ANY improvement whatsoever. The plans for the Rocket Rods tracks is some sort of a Peoplemover 2.0. That's what's been reported by various sources over the last few years. However ... what they SPECIFICALLY have in mind .. is carefully sealed tight within the walls of WDI. They aren't making as much as a peep on what they exactly intend to do for the track .. and the rest of Tomorrowland. The only thing that has been confirmed (sort of) was their dates to work on the land .. which would coincide on the same timeline to work on DCA (2010-2012). However .. with the souring economy .. and plans for all other Disney parks shelved .... the fate of TL (along with the Rocket Rods tracks) is unknown. I guess we'll hear something in the next few months.

Now .. how much R&D savings to other Disney-owned park projects is unknown. I for one do not want a Tomorrowland that is going to be a carbon copy of Tokyo's TL. So what the future holds exactly ... As we say....... we'll have to wait and see.

They show you a film during orientation that if you overhear less than public info you're supposed to inform a supervisor or something. You wouldn't go and tell guests about it if you want to keep your job. That's what I was getting at. If you really want to get down to it, these rumor sites would be way more reliable than asking a cast member in the park a question, because it allows employees to shoot their mouths anonymously.

"Disney is planning on renovating the land, along with a new ride to go on those tracks" .. and that's grounds for ~discipline~? That's a bit EXTREME. But I suppose Meryl Streep's character in "Doubt" would find it appropriate!

That's a bit EXTREME." They have no right to tell you until it's public information. I don't know who Al Lutz or any other rumor monger's sources are, but if Disney found out who they are, they would most likely be fired. It's great for people like us that stuff leaks out of the company at an alarming rate, but if I worked at Disney I'm not sending crap to Al or anyone else unless I'm ready to lose my job.

The only draw back is that Disney DOES change their plans, and dates. No one can really give a clear answer. That's why any castmember would be better off saying ... "Well, this and this is being PLANNED." That's the safe thing to say .... and that way no one gets into trouble.

TDR is the only Disney resort that Disney itself owns 0% of. It's also the only Disney resort that's not managed by Disney. As you point out, they do pay Disney for all of the imagineering work, among other things.

I'm just saying what I think Disney believes. You probably saw that thread a while ago where the kid got fired for having an idea for Space Mountain and "name dropping", whatever that is. People get fired for stupid things at corporations sometimes.
