It's funny how all 5 Space Mountain rides are now different from one another in show elements. Got to see the cool Stitch parade again. An entire block of World Bazaar is closed for rehab, and the Pirates ride is also closed as they are installing jack Sparrow in there. Can't wait to see how that version of the ride turns out. SPOLIERS AHEAD!!! Anyways... I like the new spaceship prop in the loading area. The lighting is much lower and the area feels darker than before. I love the traveling lights along the ceiling... One on the ride, there are some minor changes.. During the lift, we are treated to what look like power generatprs, complete with electric bolts... and as you go up the main lift, the vehicles are surrounder by electric-like effects, like those of lighting. The ride itself is darker now. They have blocked the queue window so the whole experience now is similar to HKDL or DL's... There is a new nebula effect at the top of the ride as you reach the top of the ride. The vehicles have been refurbished and look different. The TDL site says they are new vehicles, but I don't think they are... NO music on the vehicles.. but there seems to be this whooshing wind sound effect inside the building as your rocket speeds thru the track.. The entry tunnel is similar to DL's/HKDL's... Anyways... a nice refurbishing of the basic concept. I give it 3 stars out of 4. Photos from my visit to be posted soon.

Unfortunately the changes only came about as WDI is going through all of the buildings in TDL to make them up to post-Kobe code and they are trying to bring in new effects wherever possible. OLC nixed anything more substantial for this attraction. Pirates is currently due back up July 20. Same reason as Space for the tweaked storyline.

" Well, yes, specifically, the new score from the film used in the caverns and battle scene. Replacing the old captain of the Wicked Wench with Captain Barbosa. Putting Jack in several scenes throughout the ride. Adding the Davey Jones mist screen. Basically all of the cosmetic enhancements that Disneyland got.
