I am extremely lonely. Rosie was my wife, my lover, and my very best friend. I am doing OK because I know I have to. Every night before I go to bed I plan what I will do in the coming day. If I wake up without a plan it is really bad. I've learned not to do that.

I couldn't imagine how awful and lonely it would be to rattle around in our home all by myself, missing DH's presence. At least with the kids, I had to keep some semblance of normalcy going, which sometimes meant having "a plan" other than just our day to day routine. Sad that two boys lost their dad, but at least it helped to keep me in better spirits and forced me to keep on keepin' on.

The slideshow was lovely and really shows that Rosie lived life to the fullest.
Things will get better for you in time, I promise.

Jerry, have you thought about getting a fish tank? I know it sounds weird. I have a stressful job and I've found that my fish tank helps sooth all sorts of problems. There is a physical part to it (cleaning, daily feeding) but then the zen part of it is unreal. Plus, you are in control of their entire world.

A suggestion that my mom found very helpful (and still does) when my dad passed away was to keep the TV or radio on from the minute she gets up until she goes to sleep. She found that the stillness in the house made her lonely. A radio talk show, mixed with some TV shows that my dad didn't care for :) and followed up by some big band music that they used to dance to (and she'd dance) and then back to some TV, helped her get through the day.

We are thinking of you! Have you considered coming to CA for the Big Meet? There will be hundreds :) of people to keep you busy.

There is a song by Alan Jackson called Sissy's song. Everytime I hear it, I think of your Rossie.
