I recommend staying on site, it is so much easier. The runs are crowded, so unless you are an elite runner and are at the very beginning, it will be a slow run.

It is cold in the corrals, so bring throwaway layers of clothes that you can shedd as you warm up. I think they collect and donate to Goodwill. We always bring hand and feet warmers as well.

Have fun training! It is a fun time and if you are doing your first marathon, I can't think of a better place to start!

when you say the corrals are cold, what do you mean? Thats the starting point right? If you take extra clothes do you have a place to get rid of them?

It may take you awhile once the marathon to begin to actually get to the starting line. Many people peel off clothes as they approach or pass the starting line. Disney donates the clothes that are left. I also people peel of clothes along the run, but the best places to do that are at the water stops. If you have family member who want to cheer you on during the run, find places that are easier to get to since many of the roads on Disney property are closed due to the marathon. The marathon map is not available yet, but I would suggest that the MK is a great place (if you they have tickets) to cheer you on and take pictures. They can then hop on the monorail and catch you again between the Polynesian and Shades of Green since that is the usual route. There are a couple of other places to meet up. I had my wife meet me and hand me some power bars and gatorade as well as a change of socks.
