Which is probably why the San Bernardino paper ran it first. LA Times has been incredibly critical of DCA.

A gentleman claiming to work at WDI said that this one has a much higher budget than the one in Florida. Over $100,000,000, if I recall. That's a pretty big budget for a 5 minute experience.

Look at the logistics of it. They are going to have to sink it 50 feet into the ground. That's about five or six stories. This will be a massive construction project.

And yet, there's no 'Happy 100th Birthday Walt' celebration at the Disneyland Resort. Boo-hoo...

I think it's kind of creepy to over celebrate Walt Disney. I mean, he did do a lot of things, and there is a statue there and stuff, but he's not Jesus and it seems a bit weird and maybe a bit too easy to go overboard on something like this.

Who know's it's all just speculation on my part.

Actually, DIS stock has risen nicely from a low of $15 and change to 21.30 or so today. I couldn't scrape together enough m,oney to buy when it was in the teens. Now I'm kicking myself. Give it a few years and it'll be back up to $40 again.

Compared to other media stocks, Disney is not very favorable right now. It should also be noted that while it has risen from it's 52 week low, it has still lost over half of it's value over the past year (if you want to get technical, more like a year and a half. The 52 week high is closer to $34 now.) Even with the current economic enviroment (which I am becoming more and more convinced is not the main reason for Disney's stock problem prices, but it certainly is a close second), Disney's stock is really in the gutter. And it's only going to get much worse...

Of course, if the ride is still a cheaper version, it's going to be quite waste, won't it? For all intents and purposes, this will be a scaled down version of the attraction. Yet they are going through the trouble of sinking the structure underground? It doesn't make any sense, which seems to be right in line with practically every decision the company has made lately.

There have been rumors to debunk that the TOT at DCA will be scaled down.
    Start believing the new rumors.

I'd bet it will be back down in the teens before it is back in the 30s. The company will still have some major bad news to report. Advertisement is still dropping, ABC's ratings are still dropping, park attendance is still dropping, discounts are getting steaper, the amount of cheaper alternatives to Disney Store for merchandise is rising, and the company actually lost money last fiscal year.

I think it will get worse before it gets better, and that goes for the whole economy, not just Disney. Of course, 2 years ago, everyone though I was nuts for saying it was time to get out of tech stocks. Cisco at 80 is a great deal because it is going to 100. Yeah right! Now the stock is way overvalued at 20. Disney is still overvalued at 20, unless they quit making bad purchases. In fact, I think they should start offloading some of the bad stuff (Fox Family), and just take the write off as a one time charge instead of dragging the stock down for years to come with the depreacistion of ill gotten Goodwill subtracting from earnings.

But, Mack Attack with all his/her inside info on how well the park was doing, was positive the 3D room was a done deal gone. Is lateral movement back? If so, did all the negative feedback from so many have some effect on that? If not, are they adding some other absolutley unique aspect that will make this unlike other tower rides? More info please!
