A course of a few days can teach some basics, correct some bad habits, and hopefully dispel some misconceptions. But it doesn't make you Rambo. Which, if you read some of the comments from people who have taken the course, a lot of people seem to think. Those who understand that it doesn't might benefit from such a course, a least a little (and in the unlikely event they'll ever have to use such skills). Those who don't understand that arguably become more dangerous.
