There were many times I saw a guest who was suspected of shoplifting getting trailed by plain clothed security officers without knowing it. ~Beth

They get banned from the park, although I am not sure how that is exactly enforced. Anyway, the security person who caught her told her that the shops are constantly patrolled by plain clothes security and that there are cameras that are well hidden. On any given day around park closing one can find young people on Harbor Blvd. trying to sell park merchandise. Usually snow globes or watches or other expensive items for half price. It is disgusting. They only drive up the prices for everyone else.

Not long ago they were advertising backstage for people who wanted to transfer to plainclothes security. Their training is quite different from costumed security.

Thus you are not welcome in my location. Peer pressure works wonders. So does calling the parents when you catch one. What really rules is calling the parents of the friends that weren't stealing to let them know that their son/daughter hangs out with chumps.

Totally correct, and in fact many shoplifters actually have AP's and it's easier to ban an AP than it is to ban a Guest who generally pays for a passport each visit. The AP is blocked in the system and revoked from the Guest. I am not saying that AP's shoplift more than anyone else, so please don't think that. However, there is a significant percentage of Guests who shoplift who do have AP's.
