Without them who would build Shanghai DL ... 'fix' DCA ... and continue to add underwhelming crap to WDW? <<There are other WDP&R groups that are sited in Glendale now including the likes of Adventures by Disney.>> That's not a surprise. Considering the price points of Adventures, I'm wondering how viable that business will continue to be ... <<However a significant number of the cuts will be coming from full-time cast members at WDI.>> I'd love to see a list of names ... there's a few I'd love to check off my WDI: The Home Game check list! Disney has way too much bloat in the middle and upper levels ... people whose jobs exist for no good reason. Cuts there actually make sense. As to the people ... well, this is our little capitalist (socialist for the wealthy) little system we live under. People don't matter. The buck does. More importantly, Disney's price per share at 4 p.m. matters.

According to Mr. Hill's article today about the buy out offers, many of the execs being offered buy out packages are close to retirement age. In a place like WDI where the median age is reportedly 47 years, and where most if not all of the remaining "old school" Imagineers are now close to (or past) retirement age, it makes me wonder if this move will be the final nail in the coffin lid for the WDI oldtimers. Since DCA will be sucking down the overwhelming majority of the Anaheim development dollars over the next several years, I wonder how many Imagineers assigned to DL will be let go? Tony Baxter will be 62 in the near future. That's pretty close to retirement age. Has Tony been offered a buy out package, leemac?

We have positions that I'm pretty sure only exist to pick the noses of those above them. There is never a good time to lose your job. That being said paying someone 6 figures to show up is insane & I'ld be hard pressed to feel any sympathy. THX for sharing Spirit & BTW you owe me an email.
