And, I got a little sad at the end, too, when they panned out on Mal at the helm of the ship and you could see the little dinosaurs that we saw Wash playing with in the series. *snif* Anyhow, overall I was pretty pleased with the movie - kind of irked that they didn't speak quite the same (anyone else notice more sentences with proper structure than they expected? lol) and that I don't recall seeing a single horse in the whole show. As Eric pointed out when we were waiting for the credits to finish and discussing it a bit, this was more of a space opera than space cowboys - BUT, at least we got a movie that leaves us with a good possibility of a sequel! Turns out there were 4 midnight showings at a local theatre here that all sold out - woot! Plus a few other midnight showings that I'd been previously unaware of closer to me than the place down south that had the 4. Ohhhhhhhhhh, and does anyone think that the Alliance maybe was building River and the other kids they had like her to destroy reevers(reavers?)? I liked the little comedic touches, too - kind of odd that they used "Shiny" semi-frequently int he first half, then the 2nd half, not so much. Really liked the character of the operative, too. Hope to see him pop up again if there is indeed a sequel! Ok, random ramblings over, I think. Oh, expect one thing - I LOVE MAL! He's a hottie and, when it comes down to it, a real stand-up, great guy!
