Specifically, is there a site or publication which indicates which rides are off limits for my dog and are there specific locations for potty time (and where they are)? There are some potty locations in WDW that are bad (construction debris and glass or high grass), so if there's a cm out there who can advise me I'd really appreciate any info.

Planning is essential for us to have a better trip :)

p.s. I'll be in a ecv (I'm assuming they rent them at the park), but mobile enough to leave it to walk my dog, go on rides, and have regular restaurant seating (dog under table).

    Thanks, guys!

Gosh that made me smile :)

Good question beamerdog, now that I think about it, I've never seen a service dog on a ride at DLR so I'm curious now to know the answer. I often see the security dogs checking things out, love those guys :)

They do rent the ecv's just inside the gates.

The ecv just lets me go the whole day instead of having one big blister on the bottoms of my feet as I have almost no fatty pads there. Jackson pulls me and acts as support when I stand (I don't have balance problems.) I tell people he's my cane with a motor, lol. I can now walk up hills, curbs and steps with him pulling me up.

I used to train so I've had many puppies in WDW, but Jackson hasn't had the pleasure yet. Of all of the dogs, Beamer hated it the most and TJ LOVED it. He sat on the seat in the HM loving the music and the show. It was sometimes hard to get him to lay at my feet since he loved all the action.

When I'm in an ecv Jack will "sightsee" whipping his head from side to side to see all the sights since he knows he's not working (except for picking up things I drop, doing go pays, and medical alerting). His job is to pay attention to me and not be looking around and interacting with other people. Anyway, I'm guessing that he'll like the parks.

There was nothing about service dogs on the DL official site, so I've tried to contact them.

Dogs are not allowed on roller coasters or any ride where they could be thrown out. I've had many dogs on HM, SSE, the safari ride, 3d movies, Imagination, and many more. To do other rides, I have had someone in my party hold the dog while I go on the ride. Jackson will not be happy about this, so I'll judge how he's doing before actually handing him off. It's more important to care for Jack than to experience the ride.

Gee, at WDW that don't allow dogs on Dumbo. That would be very cool. Tonight I went to a performance at a local opera house where a fellow graduate with her service dog sang a song from Wicked. She was dressed as a witch (green face and all) and her dog had a flying monkey costume. Very cute.

I have seen service dogs accompany their humans all around disneland. I believe, if I remeber correctly, DL and DCA will gladly help you hold the leash for your service dog while you are on the ride. Have you contacted Disneyland to see what the actual policy is for service dogs and what to do on the rides?

I emailed them, but I'm going to call Guest Services. Per rules of the organization I'm not allowed to have a stranger hold the leash of my dog. He freaked out the one time he had to go with a policeman after I had a bad accident on an interstate and got trapped in the car.

I did get some good information on "that other site" from the poster who was mentioned - thanks! A few pieces of the puzzle are still missing.
