I've never been to Epcot, but I've researched quite a bit about it. I'm not entirely sure, but Reflections of Earth seems like this very sacred show at Epcot that people would raise hell about if they ever removed.

Would there be an uproar? World of Color doesn't get any criticism for replacing anything because it didn't. It actually has an advantage in that respect.

But could World of Color replace Reflections of Earth and get away with it?

Doesn't matter as Disney replaces nothing in FLA except pin and plush racks.

Depends on what they are doing with Fantasmic.

If the DisneySea Fantasmic is going to be adapted to DisneySea, then no way, don't bring in World of Color, which isn't a good fit with DisneySea at all.

Reflections of Earth definitely has a connection to the World Showcase that World of Color in its current form would not.

Everything I hear sez Fantasmic in Japan will be a whole new animal and very different from the two current versions. A lot of WoC tech will make its way into that show.

How do you figure Fantasmic fits any better?

    Well that's cool, at least.

I don't. I imagine they would have to adapt it, especially the backstory.

However, it can be shoehorned in there the same way it is on the Rivers of America.

It'll probably be a good show, though not as relevant as BraviSEAmo, but I'll never be able to see it anyway so what am I talking about haha

The character centered WoC does not fit in the theme of EPCOT.

What if the choice was water/fire-only show and that would mean no more pyro?

Better, bigger water screens and fountains mixed with fire and pyro could be a huge improvement to the show. For those that see Illuminations: Reflections of Earth on a more regular basis, I could see why you would want a new show. But I've only been fortunate enough to see it twice in the last 10 years. RoE is an AMAZING show if you've never seen it. Truly spectacular. But add in some of effects elements from WoC, I'm sure it could be even more amazing!

Perhaps if they improved Fantasmic! at DHS with a Fantasmic/WoC mix, that might be a more appropriate import of WoC.

    PERISH THE THOUGHT.

    (I reeeeeally love RoE...)

It wouldn't fit at all. Yes, it's a visually stunning show, and it's tech will revolutionize how Disney does night spectaculars, but in terms of theme, this is as bad as putting a large cartoon hand and wand over Spaceship Earth.

    ;-)

That said, I'm ALL for the tech being used. The very basic idea for this show came from the original IllumiNations...Lasers, lights, synchronized fountains...It would be perfect to see it come full circle back to EPCOT.

    >>What if the choice was water/fire-only show and that would mean no more pyro?<<

Why would you do that? They have the room. They could have both...and that would be REALLY stunning.

Also, I don't think it would be possible to drain WS Lagoon and build an aircraft carrier. I think it's still, very much a natural lake at the bottom...not like DCA's.

That said, I think it would be easy to use this fountain and projection tech on small barges, like they already use, and from there, have both pyro and water/projections.

Animal Kingdom could have a scaled down version in the Asia lagoon, but you would have to do all Animals and Jungle-ish characters (Nemo, Tarzan, Bug's Life, etc.)

But someone mentioned in another thread why not DTD? They have the water to do it, and this seems like the place to do food packages. I would love it here, they could put some fastpass machines there, or create another method.

Fantasmic could definitely use some of the updated tech from WoC to improve the show.

Wouldn't work, unfortunately. There's no way they could really draing the lake there.

<<But someone mentioned in another thread why not DTD?>>

Because you can go to DTD for free.

People often complain about the "Slow" middle section (Acventure, life, etc).. this would really spice that up.
