The rules are simple: Put your digital music player (iPod, MP3 player, Windows Music Player, whatever) on "shuffle" and tell us the first 25 songs it plays. No fair cherry-picking--if there isn't something embarrassing on your list, it's no fun.

    1. Groucho Marx, "W.C. Fields: BB Gun/Prohibition"
    2. Franz Schubert's Impromptu for piano in G flat major, D. 899, 3rd movement
    3. Isaiah 57
    4. "Weird Al" Yankovic, "Twister"
    5. Banda Calypso, "Nessa Balada"
    6. Jadakiss feat. Anthony Hamilton, "Why"
    7. George Martin, Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr, excerpt from the documentary "The Making of Sgt. Pepper's"
    8. Jim Dale, excerpt from the audiobook "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"
    9. Jim Dale, an earlier excerpt from "Order of the Phoenix" (Audiobooks don't really work well in shuffle mode, do they?)
    10. Geoffrey Giuliano, a track from the documentary "Elvis: From Prince to King"
    11. Joao Maria de Abreu, "Over the Rainbow"
    12. Jim Dale, a track from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"
    13. Robert Earl Keen, Jr., "Dreadful Selfish Crime"
    14. Thomas Newman, "Wow" (from the "Finding Nemo" soundtrack)
    15. Micah 7
    16. Robert Klein, "Fabulous 50's"
    17. The Hollies, "You Know He Did"
    18. Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto, for strings & continuo in D major, Op. 12, 3rd movement
    19. Cindy Paley, "Chanukah Chag Yafe"
    20. The Bobs, "Come Together"
    21. Michael Chabon, excerpt from the audiobook "Manhood for Amateurs"
    22. Cowboy Junkies, "I Don't Get It" (live)
    23. Amir Adhamy, "Market Growth Is a Thing for All to Be a Part Of"
    24. Jim Dale, another track from "Prisoner of Azkaban"
    25. The Traveling Wilburys, "Margarita"

I know, but I think that's how I saw it before. Still, if somebody just wants to tell us 10 or whatever, that'd be fun, too.

DLF8: I'd figured you as somebody who'd have a big collection. Am I wrong, or is it someplace other than the iPod?

(My MP3 player only holds about 200-300 "songs," but I've got 14,709 "songs" on my laptop, which represents less than half of my CD collection.)

When I got the thing, I knew I'd be putting on a lot of music and photos so I got the one that would hold the most.

I just downloaded the Almost Alice music from AIW.

And, yes, I think I have more songs in iTunes on my laptop. I didn't put ALL of them on my iTouch! LOL

Sorry. Didn't mean to cast aspersions or anything. I've just always pictured DLF8 as living in a house filled with lots of bookcases loaded down with LPs and CDs.

Actually, I'm curious about what people do with their old CDs. Do you rip your whole collection to iTunes (or whatever)? Or just your favorites?
