Snow White's Scary Upgrade

Since we couldn't ride it, we decided to ride this kindly old gentleman cast member, instead. I mean, he was just standing out front of the ride with nothing better to do than to tell us why Snow White had called in sick that day.

ORGOCH: Yeah an' after spendin' just two seconds with Orwen, 'twas 'nuff ta make the poor sap wish HE'D called in sick, hisself!

ORDDU: Anyway, this kindly cast member proceeded to inform us that the moving floor elements within the Snow White attraction are in the process of having sensors installed--so that whenever a naughty guest decides they want to 'escape' from their ride vehicle by stepping outside onto the floor, the entire ride will shut down automatically.

ORWEN: I don't know why anybody would even WANT to try getting out of a moving ride vehicle in the first place!

ORDDU: Some times it seems that Disney guests are becoming more and more ignorant about the potential dangers surrounding them at theme parks. In any case, Snow White now joins Winnie the Pooh, which already HAS these same sensors installed within its floor.

ORWEN: So, now that just means Peter Pan's Flight needs to get these same protective sensors--right?

ORGOCH: Got fools? (This coven a witches sure as Heck does!)

I think if someone does this, not only should they be ejected from the park, they should be fined in some manner.

ORDDU: Jonvn, duckling, I believe I read that you were recently at the Magic Kingdom, yourself, in January 2008. Hope you enjoyed all the other upgrades at the park, such as the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.

Actually, I thought the PoC ride is better there, because the line is so much more interesting. I think Haunted Mansion there has a much nicer setting, but it was a bit startling to get right on the vehicles right after the stretching room. But it has more scenes in it than the one here.

I personally don't see the problems in cleanliness and service that so many people have been complaining about. But there are some other issues that I didn't care for, and a lot of things I did care for...

See, I don't understand that. People go and complain about stuff like this. They charge an exhorbitant amount of money. If they can't even be bothered to keep the place clean, then it simply does not merit return visits.

I actually found it cleanest (and the best staffing) over Christmas this year (over any other time period). Disney did a great job getting enough workers into the parks for the holidays. I found the shortest counter service lines then too.

We want you to soak up the magical wonders of corporate governance, to gander at minimum expenditures that will swell your bulging portfolio, to see the beauty of corporate partnerships with bottomfeeders like McDs as the true profit maximizers they are."
He was right. Without those cool sunglasses I could see it all. I want my glasses back.

It's nothing new, jonvn.

Back when I worked in The Haunted Mansion at WDW [20 years ago], people would try to jump out of their Doom Buggies all the time.

Not to mention smoking pot and engaging in illicit behavior.

Can you blame them? This is the lamest Snow White ride on Earth. Nothingbut mannequins and few of them with little real animation. It's a cheaply done ride that is deplorable. I would jump off that ride vehicle too.

HAHAHAHA!!! Oh jonvn, you can be such a funny comedian!! Queue theming can never make up for the lack of certain scenes found in other versions of the ride. But if that is the case, then go ride POTC in DLP, since the queue and the ride BOTH kick royal arse over all other versions.

Because you will probably visit during the value season again after the holidays and miss the trash accumulation? Dunno.
May I suggest you stay clear or DLP as well?

The GUESTS! Especially at the Haunted Mansion, where this is a recurrent problem.

Taken as an entire experience, I think the POC in WDW is slightly better than the one in DL. Thre really isn't much in the way of missing scenes. Nothing that was really that big a deal to me.

If I went, and the place was filthy, given the amount of money it costs, I would hesitate to return. I did not see it dirty, so I don't have a problem returning.

It is far better than the one in Anaheim, certainly.

Well jonvn, I think you only see what you want to see, which is why I really do not care much what your opinions are. If it had been me writting the excellent trip report you wrote on LP, I would have been labeled "biased", but you? Oh no! You are one of the fairest ones of all, even if your experience is limited to only two resorts.

Considering that no one was actually really talking to you in the first place, I don't particularly feel the sorrow.

This was actually a pleasant conversation until you decided to trash it with your pointless hostility.

You know basically nothing about Disney, other than you like TDL, and all things are a prism extending from that. Big deal. That doesn't make you any better than anyone else. All it does do, in fact, is make your opinion a rather biased one.

Who cares about Tokyo. I don't live there, don't intend on going there. This is the WDW topic. If you can't handle a simple conversation about the thing, stick to TDL. Everyone knows you think that TDL is perfect, and nothing else can compare.

And to answer your stupid little remark about me, I see what I want to see like everyone else does. I didn't see a dirty park, and it was not. You didn't go when I did. The place was clean.

And considering that my comments had nothing to do with comparing TDL to WDW, then bringing up TDL is absolutely meaningless, and borders on a bizarre obsession by you to place it into conversations where it has no meaning.

Take it to the TDL forum. No one gives a flying donkey about your ideas if you can't post without acting like a jackass.

And actually, no, it's not a disaster from a technical point of view. You have a warped idea of what a technical point of view is. The ride functions properly. That is the technical point of view.

From the design perspective, it is also ok. It is a typical dark ride, a C level attraction. That doesn't make it a "disaster."

The execution isn't wrong wrong wrong. It is what it is.

Now go have a case of Beverly.

That is what most people tend to say, yes. I think with the line and the building, it makes up for it.

Otherwise, it's really a very similar experience.
