I don't think that is such a good idea either. That would make buena vista street and what is basically the entrance and hub area too big.
Originally Posted By ArchtMig It's impractical to move the entrance of Soarin' anywhere but where it is already. Just makes no sense. But what I still hardly grasp is the reason or need to turn Condor Flats into an extension of the wilderness. For what??? Seems like a very stupid idea to me. The idea reeks of panic from the folks in charge of DCA where they recognized that DCA was a failure so they need to try to fix the place by growing one of the only well done parts they had. DCA equals "bad", BUT Grizzly area equals "good", so expand Grizzly and suddenly DCA equals "good". Well, as far as I'm concerned, the worst thing about Condor Flats was that the area was too small to begin with. But the Soarin' building fits in perfectly, at least. Now they're gonna make the whole area an extension of the wilderness, but that huge desert hanger is still going to be there. And so will the futuristic monorail and associated beamway. In the wilderness???? No, the question to be asked is not "are they going to divert the Soarin' entrance?". The question to be asked is "how the heck are they going to facelift the hanger building to make it look like it fits way out in the wilderness????" The argument has been made before: "There are airports in the wilderness". Well, that's just stupid. Ask anyone what they think of when they think of "the wilderness", and 999 out of a thousand will not say "airport" -- and Disney does NOT theme their installations to satisfy that 1 out of 1000. Painting the hanger green ain't gonna cut it. It's gonna stick out like a sore thumb. That king of bullcrap was fine for Barry Braverman. I sincerely hope it's not good enough for the folks in charge today. It will be interesting to see what they finally do to rectify the conflict, and if it the solution rises to the level of excellence that we expect from Disney, or if it will just be another woeful blunder of the likes that were commonplace under Barry Braverman.
