Hope everyone is OK! Where can I get the latest on the fires?

I'm glad if the fire has moved away from homes, but the air here is just awful. I'm really hoping this will clear up waaay before Tuesday (when the winds are supposed to die down).

So, there was a fire about 3 miles from my house and I didn't even know it! There are still 1000's of home in Canyon Country that are in danger. It's kinda scary.

We also have some SCA members who live in the area. I'm hoping they are all right and they haven't lost anything in the fire.

(Sorry about that Lulu - I said Ursula, but I meant Lulu. I'd just been looking at photos from the walk with Ursula in them.)

The local fire was 3 miles north of us, but blowing east. Several years ago we were in a situation where the fire was literally just beyond our backyard. THAT was very frightening, and I was starting to gather photos and papers... but it's all about the wind. That one blew all the way to the coast, damaging only 1 home I believe.

That said, a friend's neighbors' house burned last night, they're about 3 miles south of us, so I don't think it had anything to do with any of the big fires... but this weather is just terrible for fires. It doesn't take much!

    Stay safe everyone!

Darn it! I started to copy and paste some of the information, but the site is going up and down. Probably due to heavy traffic.

The Castiac fire has it's own incident page here:

This is the separate page for the Santiago fire, which seems to be the closest to DL.

Both have been updated this morning.

I heard a couple of reports last night about the extra danger of "routine" house and business fires getting out of control, because so many of the firefighters are busy trying to cope with the wildfires. Be careful, folks.
