    That being said.

There are no plans for a Disney World version of Carsland. That is just fanboi fluff. There are no plans for anything at the Studios right now.

Universal hates Marvel. If Universal could dump the Marvel license to Disney and get rid of the rides in Orlando, they would. Disney sends people to IOA almost everyday to make sure the attractions are running in like new condition. Not to mention Disney is in Universals books.

Avatar will make California's Carsland look bad. Avatar will be what all future themed areas will be judged by. Everything from a design standpoint is complete. Everything is ahead of schedule.

Silly as it sounds, been hearing the Epcot Food and Wine festival might just turn into a year round thing instead of a couple months.

No Star Wars other than what is already built. Sorry fanbois.

Avatar is not the end of building at Animal Kingdom. I would guess you will see more tacked on there before you see demo at the Studios. There is design work done.

Downtown Disney has been declared unfixable. It will be nothing more than a outdoor mall, and never anything more than that. It did not start that way.

Star Wars weekends? What about Imagination Movers weekends? Hint Hint.

Okay, but who are you? Why can you post only when away from California?

It sounds like a great idea. I wish they would start doing that at WDW!

Personally, I wouldn't bet a dime on anything he said.

If true it's only because they don't want to spend the correct amoung of money to fix it.

Imagine a simulator that once you enter, sit and buckle, you just might be placed into a whole 360 degree vision ride in 3d. What if this simulator was based on the Avengers, and featured the actors from the films.

Something like that could redefine the whole industry.

See you all next week, stay safe.

The Festival requires a ton of extra staffing for all of the booths (and backstage kitchens), which I can't see Disney supporting long-term. It also causes traffic flow problems during a relatively quiet time of year; I can't imagine what it would be like during a season that's already busy.

It would also be tough to market it to the general public. Part of the draw of F&W is that it temporary (get it before it's gone!), and that it is a little different each year. If they keep it running, I doubt there would be as many updates. From a logistical standpoint, I think it would make a lot more sense to just make a new pavilion.

And I still don't have a lot of faith that the Avatar stuff will happen. I've heard nothing but perplexed responses from park-goers who've heard of the project, and Disney sure hasn't put a lot of effort into getting people excited for it.

The simulator sounds okay, but it's still just a simulator; why does everything these days need to be projections? And 3D? I can watch TV just fine at home; I want to see something 'real' when I'm at Disney. The 360 aspect sounds like StormRider at TDS, which is neat, but still not nearly as convincing as physical sets would be. Overall, the concept just doesn't excite me.

But I still don't think Avatarland sounds interesting enough to warrant an entire mega-land.

Downtown Disney is unfixable? It's a cheesy outdoor tourist mall with carbo-loaded chain restaurants, predictable chain stores, and a string of Disney owned shops selling piles of plastic junk all made in China by loving hands. What is to fix?

WDW is sending CM's to IOA to make sure the Marvel rides are in good cosmetic condition?!? That's hilariously funny, seeing as how so many WDW rides are in bad cosmetic condition.

If I were in charge of Universal, I would send a team of my own folks to ride Maelstrom and Dinosaur and Jungle Cruise each week and send a recap of all the things that are broken. And I'd send the broken down report to WDW each week on Marvel stationary.

I believe you are missing the real reason, if this is true. Uni has the Marvel rides as a result of a license from Marvel giving Uni the right to use the Marvel trademarks in conjunction with the rides. Standard requirements in trademark licenses mandates that the licensee maintain prescribed levels of quality, etc., or the licensor can pull the right to use the trademarks. Disney probably has figured out that this might be a way of pulling the license from Uni, by detailing how Uni is harming the trademark by not maintaining the rides. So sending people over daily can make sense.

And of course, since Disney owns the trademarks on its own rides, it doesn't have to meet any level of quality, and can let the rides go south.

I wish them luck with that. From what I've seen they will have that franchise for as long as they want it. Quality is not an issue for Uni!

I don't think any of us are missing any of this (other than I doubt it's a conspiracy to revoke the license agreement). The irony of the second part is why we're laughing so hard.

Would you miss Swiss Family going on permanent hiatus? Do kids even know who they are?

Expand Pirates at WDW? Add a Kraken?

Believe what you will, more truth than you know, but some will never make it off a drafting table.
