Now, it may just be my luck at never having anything go well, but the first few hours of my trip were a mis-service tour de force. But, on to the MK the following day. IASW was pretty sad looking. For some reason, when we entered the first “roomâ€, I happened to look up…and saw that a good chink of the ceiling tiles were gone, exposing the duct work and stuff above. Since I was looking for it after that, I think I noticed that in at least 2 of the other rooms. Kinda lame. Pooh’s Playful spot (a name dripping with double entendre possibility if you ask us), was nice for the kids, but what is it doing there? Is it better to look at than a hole in the ground where 20K used to be? I guess…but, a playground? Line Cutting: Holy H-E-Double Hockey Sticks! What it up with that? Mom gets on line. Dad and the kids sit to the side (Dad on the cell phone yelling about TPS reports). When Mom nears the end of the ride, the rest of the gaggle comes barreling through the queue saying that they “need to catch upâ€. Now, if it were just me and the wife, I would have caused a scene and a half, but since I was trying to behave, I just stood there, slack-jawed at the spectacle of it all. I mean…where do we start? This goes beyond the popular adage of “people suckâ€. This is 147% indicative of just how awful people and society have become. You can hear them in their heads “Clearly those rules don’t apply to ME There’s no way they expect ME to wait on line with THOSE peopleâ€. These are the same people who still pitch fits at airports when they are not allowed to carry on a steamer trunk filled with liquids. Ugh.

I lamented that I was unable to make it to TDR for the Halloween stuff this year, but looked forward to seeing the Christmas decorations. Eyes were of course rolled, along with someone saying "Surely they must have Halloween and Christmas decorations at WDW - why don't you just go there?" Oh, where do I start?

Then I would laugh. But, we need everyone's cooperation. In August, I was in an eternally long line at PHL to get through security. I was finally alomst there and a woman walked up in front of me. She turned and said "It's OK, right?" I told her it most certainly was not because we'd all waited and she could do the same. She got out of line, got in behind me and asked the next woman the same. She allowed her to cut the line. I nearly lost it. But, back on topic... Memo to WDW: Go to Home Depot. Buy some of those drop ceiling tiles and some black paint. Pain them, hang them. I don't need to see exposed ductwork.

But hey, it might be us missing the wave of the future. That stuff makes great theming. Ask the guys who made the 200K/yr who designed M:S and Test Track.
Originally Posted By danyoung >Buy some of those drop ceiling tiles and some black paint. Pain them, hang them.< I don't mean to support bad maintenance and get called a pollyanna or anything. I just want to point out that in a high ceiling attraction like iasw, there just isn't any easy access to get up there. The attraction would have to be shut down, water drained, and scaffolding built to get to the ceiling. So it's a big job, but I completely agree that they should be either making the effort to get in and fix the problem or be proactive and replace the soft ceiling tiles every 5 years or so, preventing them from rotting and falling in the first place. Or maybe putting fabric up there above the tiles, so if one falls at least it's not so noticeable.

Even I had enough faith that they could build something as simple as a dropped ceiling to last longer than 20 months. It's not like guests are interfering with it.

One person will be sent ahead to get in line while the rest of the part enjoys a shorter lined attraction or to get a snack. If the entire party is not ready to get in line for the attraction, wait until everyone is ready. Then wait in line with the rest of us. How difficult is that?

It's like someone trying to get on a crowded El in winter ahead of those waiting, someone cutting the line at a sporting event here etc....no way...
