Why, it's as fresh as a daisy and as relevant as doing the Macarena and going to the movie theater to see Titanic!

My bigger concern is what are the plans to replace these rides/ attractions and features? Anyone hear yet what will be replacing Sounds Dangerous? Will it be another Sorcerer's hat, A temp DVC sales stand, more shops, or perhaps just more empty unsued abandonded buildings. Half of that park is already empty ( or half full depending on how you look at it ).

Originally Posted By Kennesaw Tom I had never experienced Sounds Dangerous. I'm one of those rare people that actually got to experience MGM back when it really was a live studio/ park. So I experienced the stage tour back when it was 3 hours long and Sounds Dangerous was park of the sound stage tour narrated by Chevy Chase. That and the part of the actual stage production when they look guests from the audience to play a little segment of a Gilligan's Island episode was in my opinion the best parts of the show. You could hear yourself on the audio of the production. I miss those days when MGM actually made sense and was more than a half day park.

I too, was one that saw the original sound show. I was even one of the people pulled from the audience to play a part in it. Don't think it was about Gilligan Island though...that was next door in the big theater. Both were fun, but no one liked either of them. Just not enough excitement I guess. Well, all of you that need to be hand held to be entertained have won yet another one. Or did you? Anyway, SD has been closed, unofficially, for a long time now and it is sad. At least it was an attraction instead of an empty building. It was never an embarrassment to Disney but it should have been to those that would not let themselves go beyond visual stimuli.

I got the original concept for MGM, most people couldn't tolerate 3 hour long stage/ back stage tours for obvious reasons. It just wasn't most visitors thing. Understandably DHS has morphed into strictly a theme park that seem to hold most everything else rejected from the MK, EPCOT or DAK. It is a shame really. So much could be done with DHS. The more important concern is that there really doesn't seem to be any great visionary rides/ attractions or feature planned for DHS. It really is a gem just waiting for some WDW management team to take notice. Should I even bring up the point that of all WDW's parks this one is the true disaster to try to get out of from the parking lot when Fantasmic lets out?

Why?...cause they don't happen to like it...no one should. It's not the fault of the general public, it is the fault of Disney for not figuring a way to promote and educate. I will grant everyone that when Disney/MGM first opened it was completely different than what we see today. To enjoy it, early on, you had to have a real curiosity and interest in how movies were made. It was old hat to West coasters because they had all those studio's and studio tours in the Hollywood area. The east coast didn't have that exposure. I loved the back lot tour no matter how long it took. I loved the monster sound show, and the green screened Superstar Television show. All of those were very much in need of people to man it. If the public didn't flood the place, it was not going to have a happy ending, and it didn't. Why...it was all too boring. No action, no risk of harm or injury. We don't deserve anything better because we didn't support anything better. Slowly, every building in DHS is getting emptier and emptier. It will be replaced by meet and greets and star wars fans. I suspect that the only reasons that anyone goes to DHS anymore is because of ToT, RnRc, and Toy Story. So far I have heard how Indiana Jones is lame, The Muppets are lame, the Great Movie ride is lame, the new backlot tour is lame (which it is) but it is the only way to get to Catastrophe Canyon. There is not a whole lot left is there. Well, there's always the big ugly hat blocking the views worth seeing so that Pins can be sold. So, in conclusion, I am calm. I am calmly watching everything go the way of thrill and away from the edutainment that made Disney what it was. With me it has gotten to the choice of what parks to skip...should it be AK or DHS.

As I expressed what was before, what the reaction to it was and what happened to it wasn't hyperbole, it was history. Any projection of future was based on past history not my panic driven mental diarrhea.
