So, that got me to thinking, I'm curious what are some special memories that you have of the first couple of times you took your child or children to Disney World?

I can't wait until he's a couple years old and he first see's Mickey in the Magic Kingdom!!!!!

    Thanks everyone!

When we went into Philharmagic, there was a family in front of us with a tiny baby--he couldn't have been much more than 8 months old. We expected him just to sit on Daddy's lap while the rest of the family enjoyed the show. But sure enough, as the film started Mom reached over and put a pair of 3-D glasses on baby. He was loving it! It was hard to keep my eyes on the screen, I enjoyed watching him so much!

It's really neat to see your kids have fun.

My DS8(5 at the time) loved (and still does) Stitch, also. We waited in line for them to get their picture with Lilo & Stitch at Disney/MGM Studios. When it got to be their turn my DS9 (6at time) walked up to Lilo. DS8 dropped to the ground and began crawling towards Stitch. Stitch did the same to him. I have this amazing picture of DS8 and Stitch crawling toward each other. Then I took one of DS9 with Lilo, he had his hands in his pockets. Her hands are outstretched as if to give him a hug. DS9 is giving her a look like not on your life. I did get two pictures with the four of them together, but I wouldn’t give anything in this world for the other two pictures. Actually I prefer them to the ones where they are posing with the characters.

Now that my boys are getting a little older, it's fun to watch them act like little kids (especially DS11) and just be themselves. No worries of who will say what if they act silly. No one for them to impress, just fun with family!!

I have had many wonderful WDW memories with both of my kids in the years since, but that is still one of my all time favorites.

My 4 year old DD got to play musical chairs with the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and the White Rabbit.
Having the Wicked Queen from Snow White make fun of my daughter because of the Disney princess shirt she was wearing.
Meeting the Disney princesses for the first time and having Cinderella sit on the ground with my daughter and bring her into her lap for a hug.
Peter Pan taking my daughters autograph book and then running into one entrance a shop on Main Street and hiding from her by sneaking up behind her from the other entrance.
And there are soo many more memories we are going to make like that next month on our 13 day trip to WDW!! Can't wait!!!!! (She is six now)
Congratulations on your new baby tfdeere!

We left for WDW immediately after and met my entire family there. My daughter was 6 mos old at the time. The entire trip was special but the times that we spent with characters were truly magical. There were no tears from her just lots of laughter. At Artists Point, the manager had to ask Tigger to go and visit with other guests as he had spent almost 45 minutes playing with her. Pooh snuck up behind her high chair and spun her around and she laughed so hard then when he went to hug her she licked him. That was also the trip that we purchased a stuffed Minnie Mouse for her. That Minnie became her best friend and went everywhere with her. I would even have clothes made for her that matched my daughters clothes. Sadly, Minnie went to school with my daughter on the last day (last year) and someone took her as a joke but Minnie was never found again. My Daughter still cries when she thinks of her being lost. Anyway, that trip was the first of over 100 trips to the World.

The second best memory occurred the end of Sept. right after 9-11. We went, even though the people who were supposed to go with us cancelled. The parks were empty -- I walked though Fantasy Land and literally saw about 5 people other than CM's. We went to AK to see FotLK and visit with the characters. As noone was there, the characters were all down in the courtyard area. My daughter and Minnie got to play for over an hour. They danced and played hide and seek with her stuffed Minnie. I've pictures of Minnie spinning my daughter around by her arms, dancing, and generally having a great time.

Those are the two top memories but there have been so many more in my Daughters short 8 years.

The youngest is 17 and her first hug from THE MOUSE and the smile that accompanied it will always be a special memory. And now, the grandkids are seasoned Disney folks too. The youngest (4 the first time) didn't like folks in costume but Winnie was a real bear and got lots of hugs, Tigger stole the other granddaughters chocolate milk and the 11 year old grandson will never wear a Universal t-shirt near Tigger again and it's all caught on video for us to watch whenever we need more magic. I hope that you get to have all the fun watching them possible and remember to let the kid in you come out at the same time. That's the best fun of all. Laughing with them.
