I'm curious, when they took MSEP to Paris, they didn't end it with the eagle/American flag did they? Patriot that I am, I feel that would have been wrong.

I'm surprised someone said Fantillusion wasn't as long or diversified though, it's pretty elaborate with 3 big show stops and the floats stretch all the way along the parade route (at least that's how Tokyo was).

For me, it's a tie between the new Electrical Parade in Tokyo and Spectro though...love em both.

What I meant was that I didn't think as many movies were represented in Fantillusion. The floats really looked great, elaborate. But if the video was the entire parade, not as long as Spectro. But the Mal/Dragon float was super fantastic. I could watch that one over and over. And Flora,Fauna & Merriweather were all on the same float. In Spectromagic, they each had their own float, and there was a big gaping hole where Chernabog should have been.

As you know, Fantillusion! was a TDL original parade that boosted about 28 floats, and was presented in three separate acts. The whole show would take close to 25 mins to watch. Many of those floats did not make it to DLP, so their version is horribly edited and butchered. Not to mention, the original Fantillusion! had a cast of hundreds, way many more performers than what you see in the DLP clips.

I would be more than happy to show you my official TDL Fantillusion DVD for your enjoyment if you really want to know how horribly outdated and bland the MK's SpectroMagic parade really is.

So yes, my vote goes to Fantillusion, in it's original form. SpetroMagic needs to be replaced badly. It's old and totally outdated.

Fantillusion is the only electrical parade to feature show modes, in which the technical aspect of the paarde became very apparent, with floats changing colors, and shapes, with some giant AA figures as well...and the use of mirror projections and black light magic. NONE of that can be seen here and again, enough reason to even compare these parades. Makes SpectroMagic look even more puny and insignificant.

MK needs a major new electrical parade pronto.

The show stops are supposed to be The Enchanted Fairy Garden, then the Villians, then the Happily Ever After section where the Princes & Princesses dance and the floats change colors and have mirror effects. I can only imagine what this looked like in person!

And don't even get me started on the fiber-optic Chucky dolls.

    rant done, carry on

And just for info - taping the Tokyo version made me put away the camcorder forever. Spent so much time trying to tape it for posterity, I didn't have the chance to really enjoy it in person. After watching what I misssed, the camcorder was retired never to return.

Well, technically, it was pretty new then. The parade debuted in 1991, so at that point it was only 2 years old.
