The feel of the ride was there instead of just seeing a bunch of animatronics move and faint murmuring coming from the speakers. It was a nice surprise! Every time I've ridden the ride in the past I thought the scenes were random and I couldn't figure out the whole theme of the ride other than it was based on "song of the south." It was cool to hear the eerie laughing of the characters as it was getting more and more ominous...very cool. When did this change take place? What exactly was done? Was the entire soundtrack changed or just new speakers? It's obvious that it must've been through a pretty intense refurb, and I have to say, it has payed off...please excuse me if this topic is a little "old" but I haven't been for at least a year and I was very pleasantly surprised...it's a shame I only got to ride it once.

(It's so cute) once you get over the initial shock of the drop(s) (a few small ones inside besides the biggy) it's not even an issue. My 68 year old dad has high blood pressure and stents in his heart loves it! Now this is strictly MY opinion, but...Space mountain, if you are a wimp, maybe you wanna skip. You can see the inside of the ride while riding tomorrowland transit authority. All I know is when I rode it a few weeks ago I felt like I got jerked and banged around alot and it's a little intense because it's jerky and in the dark...I got off with a little headache, which usually doesn't happen to me. It's not a bad ride, I just didn't like getting jerked around so much. I've also ridden this ride like a million times but for some reason it seemed a little more bumpy to me. JMO

But you don't get soaked like you do on Kali River Rapids or Grizzly River Run - just randomly wet.

I think part of the refurb must've been new mildew free padding! really, I think so!

But the last 4-5 times I've been on it, it has been very clean with NO mildew or smell. Actaully, the handlebars were even replaced I believe.... Nevertheless, it's 10X better than DL's version

I haven't ridden Splash for the last year or so and would like to hear more about any "changes." And I agree, BTW, that the WDW Splash is vastly superior to the DL version in any case. I think it's almost as much superior as the DL Pirates is over WDW's, but it never seems to get as much credit!
